Buds, Blooms or Busted?

Are your trees flowering, leafing out or showing buds just about ready to burst? Besides being a sure sign of Spring, buds and blossoms can tell you a lot about tree health. When a tree has poor bud development, something deeper is usually going on.

You can check bud development on your trees. Here are the top five warning signs to look for:

  1. Branches with small or less developed buds than the rest of the tree.
  2. Tips of branches have dried or no buds.
  3. Evergreen trees have few buds, buds are not swelling or color of the entire tree is off.
  4. Flowering trees have uneven bloom.
  5. Call us if you spot any of these problems! Your Giroud Arborist can evaluate the problem and determine if action is necessary.
